Job Family Engineering Discipline Process Control Engineering Career Level P3-P5 Salary Range P3: $85,700 - $120,000; P4: $99,400 - $144,000; P5:$124,000 - $180,000 Note for Salary This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors. Job Family Description Engineering roles perform engineering work in operations, production, construction, or maintenance environments. They may design and scale up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. They may plan, design, and estimate time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components. They analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. They develop and apply engineering standards and procedures and provide advice on issues within the engineering field. Discipline Description Process Control Engineers design, configure, install, and troubleshoot complex Operational Technology systems, including both hardware and software. They work in Operation facilities and require rigor in the conduct of engineering, conduct of operations, safety, security, and cybersecurity. They require knowledge of complex nuclear/chemical processes, facility instrumentation, computing devices (i.e., networking devices, servers, clients, and firewalls), standard and smart instrumentation interfacing, control system designs, configuration of networks, and configuration of process control systems (PLCs and DCS). They support new projects and modifications to existing facilities. They must understand network diagrams, system descriptions, P&IDs, logic diagrams, single line drawings, and wiring take-offs. They develop requirements, design, and testing documents. They develop software models for complex scientific processes and compares against facility production. Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include: * Develop, test and implement new DeltaV controls to maintain/support existing Facility Operations Required Qualifications P3: Bachelor's degree in an engineering field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field We'd Also Like to See * Master or PhD degree in applicable science or engineering discipline Career Band Professional Career Band Description * Roles in this band apply the knowledge in area of expertise to analyze information; design and develop new approaches, methodologies and processes; and, provide professional advice and guidance to others in accordance with professional quality standards Career Level Description P3: Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own field/discipline, solving complex problems with minimal guidance and oversight. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
