Join Macquarie's North Americas Gas and Power team as a Senior ERCOT Power Trader in either our Houston or Minneapolis office. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing proprietary and risk management trading strategies across the ERCOT power markets. You will leverage a deep understanding of power fundamentals, transmission dynamics, generation economics, weather impacts, and market structure to identify and capture trading opportunities. The role requires close collaboration with originators, analysts, quantitative teams, risk managers, and other traders to develop differentiated market views and generate risk-adjusted returns. Press space or enter keys to toggle section visibility As a Senior ERCOT Power Trader, you will develop and execute both short term and long-term trading strategies across ERCOT power markets, including day-ahead, real-time, congestion and ancillary service products. You will analyze market fundamentals such as load, weather, generation, fuel markets, transmission constraints, and regulatory developments to identify and capitalize on trading opportunities. Working closely with analytics, quantitative, technology, and risk management teams, you will leverage data-driven insights to develop market views, enhance forecasting capabilities, and optimize risk-adjusted returns. You will maintain a deep understanding of evolving ERCOT market dynamics while ensuring all trading activities remain aligned with established risk management frameworks and approved limits. Deep understanding of ERCOT market dynamics, including congestion, nodal pricing, generation economics, ancillary services, and transmission constraints. Ability to develop market views through analysis of power fundamentals, weather, fuel markets, and regulatory developments. Strong risk management discipline and experience managing complex trading portfolios. Excellent quantitative, analytical, and decision-making skills in fast-paced market environments.
