Position Title: Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist
Wage: $19.00 - $21.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist in Stevens Point, WI to create custom seating and positioning products that enhance comfort, support, and mobility for customers. This role combines sewing, fabrication, and assembly responsibilities and requires a strong commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and accuracy. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, has experience working with fabrics and production equipment, and takes pride in producing custom products that meet exact specifications. Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist Responsibilities: - Fabricate, sew, and assemble custom seating and positioning products according to customer specifications, work orders, and production requirements - Read and interpret patterns, measurements, blueprints, technical instructions, and other production documentation - Measure, mark, cut, and prepare fabrics, foam, and other materials for assembly - Operate industrial sewing machines, embroidery equipment, cutting tools, and other production equipment safely and efficiently - Assemble custom products using a variety of materials, components, and fastening methods - Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy, durability, functionality, and compliance with quality standards - Select appropriate materials and components to meet customer and product requirements - Maintain sewing and production equipment through routine cleaning and minor maintenance - Identify opportunities to improve production processes, product quality, and operational efficiency - Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing guidelines - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment - Support a positive team environment through collaboration, professionalism, and reliability Requirements for Custom Fabric Assembly Specialist: - At least two years of professional sewing, upholstery, fabrication, assembly, or related manufacturing experience - Proficiency operating industrial sewing equipment and utilizing various fabrication techniques - Ability to accurately read measurements, patterns, blueprints, and work instructions - Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules - Strong sewing, fabrication, and assembly skills - Knowledge of sewing machine operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance - Ability to work with a variety of fabrics, foams, and specialty materials - Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills - Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and craftsmanship - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment - Ability to observe, identify, and address product quality concerns - Dependable attendance and commitment to meeting production goals - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday - Frequent hand and wrist movements for detailed sewing, cutting, and assembly tasks - Frequent walking, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, and pulling - Ability to lift, move, and handle materials and finished products - Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds - Manual dexterity sufficient to operate sewing machines, fabrication equipment, and assembly tools - Ability to perform all essential job functions safely and effectively QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
