Temporary Employment Services (TES) Employees perform a variety of general clerical and administrative support functions for multiple departments during the course of employment. One of our departments on the Davis Campus is looking for a temporary Digital Communications Specialist 3 / Videographer/Photographer for a temporary assignment.

Temporary Assignments may involve activities such as creating documents and spreadsheets using MS Office and other similar tools, calendar management using Outlook, scheduling meetings both in person and virtual, event planning, making travel arrangements, processing expense reports, processing payroll transactions, human resources support, and other related clerical duties such as reception, answering phones, filing, scanning and managing correspondence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience creating engaging multimedia stories using a variety of media sources and footage including: video, audio and graphics.

• Expertise in producing, editing and publishing videos and photos for a variety of digital platforms.

• Experience taking photos for college website, press releases, college events and print and digital publications.

• Experience with coordinating photo shoots with faculty and staff.

• Experience using graphics software and tools to edit digital video and photos.

• Keep collections current, archive multimedia files and digital images, and ensure that metadata information is complete and correct.

• Ability to turn topics (research, students, field work, community impact) into interesting videos, photos, and simple graphics that make sense to non-experts.

• Experience with shooting and editing videos from start to finish

• Experience with Adobe Premiere

Preferred Qualifications

• Comfortable interviewing faculty and explaining research clearly and effectively.

• Experience working outdoors and around field activities.

• Flexibility, willingness to accept Temporary Assignments regardless of classification and/or pay rate.

• The ability to learn quickly and multi-task.

• Interpersonal, verbal and written skills to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.

Department Description

• Temporary Employment Services assigns jobs throughout UC Davis Campus (Davis) and UC Davis Health (Sacramento) encompassing a wide variety of work environments.

• Assignments can last from anywhere, from a month to two years depending on the position and the need of the department.

• Employees are expected to remain flexible when accepting temporary assignments as job duties and pay rates will vary.

• May be required to work occasional overtime, evenings, and/or weekends depending upon the assignment.

• Positions require a background check and may require a pre-placement medical exam.

• Must complete mandatory training within 15 days from start date of first assignment. In addition, those assigned at UCDHS must complete the HIPAA Privacy and Security Training prior to placement.

• A valid CA Driver's License may be required for some assignments.

• UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to physically move from location to location and work outdoors

• Work on computer, keyboard, mouse and screen for extended periods of time.

• Sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.

• Maneuver items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Special Requirements

• This position is a critical position and may be subject to a background check and drug screen. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history, identity checks and drug screen.
