Job Summary

Drexel University's Facilities Management Department is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Union Plumber / Multi-skilled Maintenance employee.

Essential Functions



  • Clear and unclog drains, and repair leaks.
  • Respond to service calls for general building maintenance items campus-wide which will include work in classrooms, restrooms, and occasionally residence halls, athletic facilities, and outdoor work. Calls will include repair requests for doors, windows, roofs, electrical, plumbing, furnishings, locks, safety protection, and other items as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in maintenance work.
  • Candidate must possess a valid Driver's License. The job requires an employee who can perform with minimum supervision and take the initiative to complete the assignment. Each employee is classified by union contract as a mechanic and management reserve the right to change an employee's daily assignment each day for miscellaneous duties as required.
  • Journeyman-level skills and license.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master level skills and license.
  • A backflow certificate.

  • Typically standing, walking
  • Typically bending, crouching, stooping
  • Lifting demands 50lbs

Additional Information

This is a Full-Time Union position classified as Non-Exempt. Benefits and compensation are based on the agreed Collective Bargaining Agreement for this position.
