The Payroll Analyst is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, audits, reconciliations, and employee support. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to ensure payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective resolution of payroll-related issues.


Responsibilities

  • Perform complex payroll analysis, processing, auditing, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Audit payroll taxes and liabilities and coordinate with third-party vendors on periodic, monthly, quarterly, and year-end tax filings and W-2 data.
  • Apply Federal, State, and Local payroll tax regulations to tax reporting, audits, reconciliations, and final pay requirements.
  • Maintain and audit local tax jurisdiction setups, withholding requirements, and statutory tax rate updates.
  • Manage, audit, and reconcile third-party wage garnishments, including related processing and documentation.
  • Integrate and validate payroll data from Compensation, HR, Benefits, and Tax functions and reconcile payroll entries before completion.
  • Process and reconcile stale-dated checks, ACH returns, and replacements.
  • Complete data-driven payroll projects and perform detailed audits and reconciliations.
  • Conduct semi-annual Workday updates and functionality testing, along with periodic testing of tenant configuration changes.
  • Provide professional, high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and resolve day-to-day payroll issues.
  • Ensure payroll documentation complies with company policies, regulatory requirements, and legal standards.
  • Complete required training and certifications and follow all applicable safety policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and data-reporting skills.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and ability to manage sensitive payroll information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors in a fast-paced environment.
