What You'll Do:
- Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded real-time software using platforms such as VxWorks and Linux.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define performance requirements, develop interfaces between software and hardware, and support system-level design.
- Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and implementation through integration and formal testing.
- Develop software test plans, procedures, technical documentation, and participate in peer reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Diagnose, track, and resolve software defects while working with programming languages, compilers, and application environments across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time systems.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- 1+ year of experience in software development particularly utilizing object-oriented programming methodologies
- 1+ year of experience in high performance and multi-threaded programming
What Sets You Apart:
- Good C++ skills
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline
- Experience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets utilizing an RTOS (Real-Time Operating System).
- Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems theory, or networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with key protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, or SNMP
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Solid presentation and writing skills
- Previous professional experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) or intelligence community.
