Central Service Technician

Our Central Service Technicians play a critical role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of surgical and clinical operations. By expertly cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment, our technicians help ensure that patients and care teams have the supplies they need for safe, high-quality care. A Typical Day:

As a Central Service Technician, a typical day might include the following:

• Selecting and applying the appropriate cleaning products and procedures for instruments and equipment within the Central Service department.
• Processing and maintaining surgical instruments for the Operating Room, Delivery Room, Dental Clinic, outpatient clinics, Emergency Department, X-Ray, Minor Surgery, and nursing units.
• Picking instruments and assembling instrument trays and baskets according to department and procedural requirements.
• Operating and maintaining mechanical cleaning and sterilization equipment, including sterilizers, cart washers, decontamination equipment, and drying cabinets.
• Sorting, examining, delinting, folding, wrapping, and sterilizing linen according to established procedures.
• Performing additional Central Service duties and responsibilities as requested to support departmental operations and patient care.

To Be Considered:

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required.
• Experience: 1-3 years of previous hospital experience preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of cleaning, decontamination, instrument processing, sterilization, and linen preparation procedures.
• Equipment Experience: Ability to operate and maintain mechanical cleaning and sterilization equipment, including sterilizers, cart washers, decontamination equipment, and drying cabinets.
• Onboarding Credentials: Successful completion of all mandatory facility and department orientation programs upon hire.
• Schedule: Ability to work the designated schedule and meet the operational needs of the Central Service department.
