Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Instructor of Clinical Practice: Physician Assistant: * Graduation from an APAP approved Physician Assistant Training Program. * Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. * Colorado license will be required prior to start date. * BLS & PALS certification will be required prior to start date. NRP will be required, but can be obtained following start date. * Minimum 0-4 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner: * Graduate of an accredited BSN program. * APN licensure and a master's from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. * BLS & PALS certification will be required prior to start date. NRP will be required, but can be obtained following start date. * Pediatric Nursing Certification Board certificate or other comparable certification required. * Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification required. * Ability to obtain Prescriptive Authority in the State of Colorado. Will need to qualify for and obtain prescriptive authority within one year of beginning position. * Minimum 0-4 years of experience in general pediatrics or hospital medicine. Condition of Employment: * Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado * Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check * Must be willing to comply with all onboarding requirements of various community hospitals, Children's Hospital Colorado Network of Care locations, the Main CHCO Campus in Aurora, and the CHCO Campus in Colorado Springs. * Colorado license, BLS & PALS will be required prior to start date. Preferred Qualifications: * Three to five (3-5) years of experience in pediatrics. * Current CO state prescriptive authority. * Inpatient experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Knowledge of a variety of common pediatric and adolescent inpatient conditions. * Superior customer service, communication, organizational and prioritization, problem solving, and collaboration skills are necessary. * Expertise and training in history and physical examinations and determination of treatment plans necessary. |
