Overview of this Position:

The Maintenance Manager's primary responsibilities are ensuring reliability, availability, and effective maintenance of production, facilities, process, and utilities equipment and assets. Lead and develop the maintenance team, including supervisors, planners/schedulers, technicians, and MRO inventory personnel, while overseeing preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, equipment maintenance plans, spare parts management, job planning, and contractor and vendor services. Drives maintenance strategies, standards, goals, metrics, and KPIs to improve equipment uptime, minimize unplanned downtime and rework, optimize maintenance labor and staffing, and effectively manage maintenance backlogs. Develop team capabilities through skills assessments, training, and performance expectations while promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the maintenance organization.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in reliability, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. Equivalent advanced technical experience and solid references considered.
  • 6-8 years in maintenance and reliability leadership within a highly technical manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of GMP standards and ability to follow CFR guidelines.
  • Knowledge and skill working with a CMMS.
  • Must possess a demonstrated track record of building and overseeing reliability programs predicated on asset criticality, PM optimization, RCA, FMEA, loss elimination, and life cycle asset management.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Supervise, lead, teach, & coach the maintenance staff which includes maintenance technicians, supervisors, & planners, certain MRO Inventory personnel, and contracted resources.
  • Assist the Sr Manager of M&R in growing a high-performance maintenance & reliability organization strategically timed to the growth of the company.
  • Anticipate all departmental needs and make appropriate strategic and staffing recommendations to support on-going operations.
  • Establish and lead a high-performance PM and PdM maintenance program.
  • Participate in the selection & appraisal of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Draft content for and track all PM-related service agreements with external vendors, oversee the issuance of SLA-related purchase orders, and provide contractor oversight when they are on site (contract administration).
  • Ensure all maintenance-related vendors and contractors being used by GRAM are approved vendors.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to arrange future work and/or follow up to obtain reports and data for completed work.
  • Oversee and manage the job and work kitting program to ensure parts and materials for maintenance technicians are identified, gathered, and kitted whenever necessary before maintenance technicians perform maintenance work.
  • Write and edit Maintenance procedures for system and equipment maintenance, repair, and reliability processes based on input from Engineers and maintenance technician(s), including but not limited to SOPs, SWIs, and job plans.
  • Oversee all maintenance-related preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work.
  • Manage data within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) - particularly spare parts, bill of materials for preventive maintenance tasks, writing job plans, gather nameplate data for equipment, download, and link manuals.
  • Aid in writing and marshaling through work orders, change controls, and other documentation.
  • Execute facility and equipment audits and record-taking policies.
  • Develop, manage, and oversee supervisors and lead rolls within the maintenance department for maintenance crews on all shifts.
  • Assist on occasion with light maintenance tasks as skills and abilities allow.
