The Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer (Deputy CHRO) serves as the principal strategic partner and deputy to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for UCSF Health and Campus, providing executive leadership for enterprise human resources strategy, operations, workforce transformation, and organizational effectiveness. Acting with delegated authority on behalf of the CHRO, this role leads the development and execution of integrated people strategies that advance UCSF's mission of exceptional patient care, research, education, and public service while supporting long-term organizational sustainability and performance. Reporting to the System CHRO for People Experience and Delivery, the Deputy CHRO oversees the HR Business Partner (HRBP) model, HR Operations, Shared Services, and workforce technology functions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and customer-centered HR services across the enterprise. Through strategic HRBP teams aligned to clinical operations, business units, and campus schools, this leader serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, driving workforce planning, organizational design, leadership development, succession planning, employee and labor relations, culture and engagement, change management, and organizational transformation initiatives that strengthen workforce effectiveness and institutional performance. The Deputy CHRO also serves as the executive leader for HR technology, workforce analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives. This includes enterprise oversight of Oracle HCM strategy, HR service delivery modernization, automation, employee support services, and data-driven workforce solutions that enhance employee experience, improve operational efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and increase organizational agility. Working closely with Health System executives, clinical and operational leaders, faculty leadership, and key stakeholders, the Deputy CHRO advances innovative and scalable workforce strategies that address evolving healthcare and academic workforce needs. As a member of the HR executive leadership team, the Deputy CHRO fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation. This leader champions operational excellence and strategic workforce stewardship, positioning UCSF as an employer of choice and a destination for exceptional talent while ensuring HR remains a proactive partner in achieving enterprise priorities and organizational success.
