Job Summary

The CDL Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating assigned commercial vehicles, including a Peterbilt and Ford F-750 box truck with automatic transmissions, to deliver HVAC units, parts, and supplies to customers and job sites. Deliveries are typically within a one-hour radius of the facility. This position is approximately 90% driving and 10% warehouse duties. In addition to making safe and timely deliveries, the CDL Driver assists with staging orders, securing products, preparing loads, processing returns, and completing required delivery documentation. The CDL Driver must maintain compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and safety regulations while providing professional customer service.

Job Responsibilities



  • Operate assigned commercial vehicles safely and responsibly to deliver HVAC units, parts, supplies, and other materials.
  • Complete deliveries within scheduled timeframes and follow validated directions.
  • Safely unload or assist with unloading materials at customer and job-site locations.
  • Ensure materials are properly secured and transported within applicable weight limits.
  • Deliver required documentation and obtain customer signatures on delivery tickets.
  • Verify that all materials have been unloaded and placed at the designated delivery location.
  • Review delivered orders for completion and accuracy.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify products against return requests.
  • Pick up local-purchase orders as assigned.
  • Secure and return packing lists and other required documentation.
  • Return completed delivery tickets to the warehouse and verify that required documentation is accounted for.
  • Communicate with the supervisor throughout the workday regarding deliveries, schedules, and issues.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Fuel the vehicle as needed.
  • Report vehicle problems, moving violations, accidents, and defects to the supervisor.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, including staging orders, wrapping and securing products, and preparing loads for delivery.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide courteous customer service.
  • Follow all DOT standards, safety regulations, policies, procedures, and applicable company requirements.
  • Support organizational programs, goals, and initiatives.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.


Job Requirements



  • At least one year of experience holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Required state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate, with proof of certification.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Clean and responsible driving record.
  • Ability to comply with DOT standards and applicable safety regulations.
  • Ability to safely secure, transport, unload, and handle materials.
  • Ability to complete delivery documentation accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and warehouse personnel.
  • Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service.
  • Ability to assist with warehouse duties as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
