Job Summary

We're hiring for an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Arizona's semiconductor workforce!

The instructor Senior provides instruction and instructional leadership for workforce training programs within the Future48 Semiconductor Workforce Accelerator. The Lead Instructor delivers instruction in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing workforce training programs and provides lead-level coordination and support for industry instructors, subject matter experts, and training partners delivering instruction within the accelerator.

This position assists with curriculum development, instructional quality, training program implementation, and coordination of instructional activities that support semiconductor workforce development initiatives. The Lead Instructor serves as a lead worker to instructional staff and industry trainers and supports the development of training programs that align with semiconductor industry workforce needs.

Essential Functions

30% - Instruction, Assessment, and Student Success
Provides instruction in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing workforce training programs in accordance with established competencies and learning outcomes; plans and delivers lectures, demonstrations, hands-on laboratory instruction, and applied learning activities; prepares instructional materials, lesson plans, and training resources; develops and administers assessments; evaluates student performance; maintains student records and assigns grades or competency evaluations; responds to student inquiries and provides guidance and support regarding course expectations, program pathways, workforce readiness, and industry-recognized skills; addresses instructional concerns and supports student success, escalating issues as appropriate; continually evaluates and improves instructional methods to maximize learning outcomes.

25% - Instructional Leadership and Instructor Coordination
Serves as a lead worker by providing direction, coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to instructional staff, industry trainers, and support personnel; coordinates instructional activities with industry subject matter experts, vendors, and partner organizations; provides orientation and instructional guidance to ensure alignment with program objectives and instructional standards; assists with course planning, instructional materials, classroom logistics, and training delivery; monitors instructional quality and consistency across programs; participates in hiring and onboarding instructional staff as assigned; serves as the primary liaison between accelerator leadership and instructional partners.

20% - Curriculum Development and Instructional Operations
Assists with the development, review, and evaluation of workforce training curricula aligned with semiconductor and advanced manufacturing industry competencies; develops new courses, training modules, and instructional materials to support evolving workforce needs; implements updates to course content and instructional materials based on industry feedback and program evaluation; conducts research to identify emerging industry skills, technologies, and training practices; identifies and coordinates instructional resources, equipment, and materials needed for course delivery and laboratory training activities; assists with organizing training schedules and instructional assignments within the accelerator; maintains instructional documentation, course materials, and training records; supports training demonstrations, workforce showcases, and facility tours that highlight semiconductor workforce training programs.

15% - Budget
Assists with monitoring budgets and expenditures related to instructional activities, equipment, and supplies; tracks resource usage and identifies instructional equipment needs.

10% - Compliance
Ensures instructional activities comply with applicable policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards; promotes safe practices within laboratory and hands-on training environments; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience in the area of semiconductor or other advanced manufacturing

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED

Desired Qualifications
  1. Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or semiconductor equipment environments
  2. Experience delivering workforce training, technical instruction, or corporate training programs
  3. Experience working with industry partners or vendor trainers in workforce development programs
  4. Experience developing technical curriculum or workforce training materials
  5. Experience coordinating laboratory-based or hands-on training in technical environments
  6. One (1) year full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years (internal candidates ONLY)
Special Working Conditions
  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all GateWay locations
  • May require some evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
