Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has continued to exceed our strategic growth initiatives creating opportunity for our current and prospective team members. As a result, a full-time position is available for an Entry-Level Civil Technician. This opportunity is available at our Bismarck, ND office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for various airport projects
  • Performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets
  • Assisting with construction administration tasks including working in the field at project sites (weekends and nights, as needed)
  • Reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs
  • Assisting in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects
  • Responsible for specific QA/QC tasks.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

A valid driver's license, the ability to pass background check to gain access to airport sites, and travel will be required.

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • An associate's degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.

OR

  • If no degree, must have at least two years of relevant experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Coordination with airport operations experience preferred
  • AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software programs
  • Civil/transportation design coursework
  • Construction field tasks including site grading, utilities, drainage, erosion control, paving, materials testing, and/or surveying
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project software programs
