Software Controls Engineer

STS Technical Services is hiring a Software Controls Engineer in Madison Heights, Michigan, to support model-based controls development for vehicle systems.

This position is designed for an engineer with strong MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow experience who can develop and support control strategies using Model-Based Design methodology. Experience with drive-by-wire systems, vehicle speed controls and New Eagle development tools is highly desirable.

The Software Controls Engineer supports the development and implementation of embedded vehicle control systems using model-based engineering tools and workflows.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment while using established version control and issue-tracking tools to support development activities.

• Proficiency with MATLAB
  
• Proficiency with Simulink
  
• Proficiency with Stateflow
  
• Experience applying Model-Based Design methodology
  
• Experience using version control tools and workflows
  
• Experience using Git
  
• Experience using issue-tracking tools
  
• Experience using Jira
  
• Ability to work independently
  
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a technical team
  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  

• Experience developing drive-by-wire systems
  
• Experience developing vehicle speed control systems
  
• Experience calibrating vehicle speed control systems
  
• Experience with New Eagle products
  
• Experience with the Raptor development toolchain
  

• Familiarity with high-voltage systems is a plus
