Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly and service-oriented Host who is passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable first impressions for every guest. This role is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating, and supporting the restaurant team in creating a smooth and welcoming dining experience.

The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and confident communicating with guests in a fast-paced restaurant setting. Previous barista experience is preferred, as this role may support coffee and beverage service during appropriate service periods. As part of the Food & Beverage team, you will contribute to a collaborative culture while supporting our commitment to thoughtful hospitality, responsible operations, and sustainability.


What You'll Do
Guest Experience

  • Welcome every guest with warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality.
  • Create a positive first and last impression for guests entering and leaving Pasque.
  • Manage guest seating and ensure an efficient and thoughtful flow throughout the dining room.
  • Provide accurate information about the restaurant, menus, amenities, and hotel offerings.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond to questions and requests professionally.
  • Assist with guest concerns and communicate issues to restaurant leadership when appropriate.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage, coffee, and restaurant offerings.


Reservations & Restaurant Operations

  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments accurately.
  • Monitor table availability and coordinate guest seating with servers and restaurant leadership.
  • Communicate estimated wait times clearly and accurately.
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming host stand throughout service.
  • Answer phones and assist guests with reservation and restaurant inquiries.
  • Assist with opening and closing responsibilities.
  • Monitor dining room presentation and communicate cleanliness or maintenance concerns to leadership.
  • Support restaurant operations during high-volume periods by assisting wherever needed.


    Teamwork

    • Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, culinary staff, leadership, and hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
    • Support fellow team members during busy periods and contribute to a positive team culture.
    • Communicate guest preferences, special occasions, and requests effectively with the service team.
    • Participate in ongoing training and continuously develop hospitality, food, beverage, and service knowledge.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications

    • Previous host, restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred.
    • Previous barista experience preferred.
    • Strong communication and guest service skills.
    • Friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
    • Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
    • Experience with reservation or point-of-sale systems preferred.
    • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
    • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.


    Physical Requirements

    • Stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
    • Reach, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
    • Safely handle menus, glassware, coffee equipment, and other restaurant materials.
    • Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
