Food Service Worker 1

This position supports the preparation, service, and sanitation of meals for residents of Southwestern Veterans' Center. It helps maintain smooth daily operations in both kitchen and dining areas. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Food Preparation: Prepare and plate food items using proper portions
• Meal Assembly: Set up serving carts and place food items on trays
• Diet Accuracy: Read color codes and interpret menu tickets for special diets
• Sanitation Tasks: Clean kitchens, dining rooms, equipment, floors, and walls
• Dish Handling: Operate dish machine and return clean items to storage
• Record Keeping: Document inventory use and temperatures for food and equipment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with alternating weekends and holidays, and a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

• Previous food service worker experience

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
