Neonatologist - Level II Special Care Nursery

MedStar Harbor Hospital | Baltimore, Maryland
Full-Time | J-1 Visa Sponsorship Available

Join an Established Neonatal Program in Baltimore

MedStar Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Neonatologist to join the neonatal care team at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoys the breadth and autonomy of community-based neonatology while remaining connected to the resources of the region's largest healthcare system.

MedStar Harbor is a Magnet-recognized community hospital offering a collaborative, personal care environment in a convenient waterside location. The hospital welcomes more than 1,000 newborns each year and serves families from Baltimore City and communities throughout Anne Arundel, Baltimore, and Howard counties.

About the Neonatal Program

Our 10-bed Level II Special Care Nursery admits approximately 150 infants annually and provides specialized care for premature and medically complex newborns, including infants with prematurity up to 32 weeks or 1,500 grams, respiratory distress, complications of transition, infection, feeding difficulties, and neonatal withdrawal.

Neonatologists work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide care in both the Special Care Nursery and well-baby nursery. Infants requiring a higher level of care are stabilized and transferred to tertiary NICUs within the region.

Our neonatal team emphasizes family-centered care, encouraging parents to be active participants in their baby's care. The program supports Kangaroo Care, breastfeeding and lactation services, and parent involvement throughout the newborn's hospital stay. MedStar Harbor also participates in a statewide neonatal collaborative focused on improving outcomes for high-risk infants.
