Position Description The EHS Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a culture of safety throughout the manufacturing operation. The role partners closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to minimize risk, prevent injuries, and support operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Safety Management Lead safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement programs.Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and ergonomic evaluations.Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries to identify root causes and corrective actions. Facilitate safety committees and employee engagement activities. Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Virginia environmental and occupational safety regulations. Manage hazardous materials, chemical inventory, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs. Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits. Environmental Programs Support air, water, waste, and stormwater compliance programs. Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management processes. Implement sustainability and environmental stewardship initiatives. Monitor environmental performance indicators and recommend improvements. Training & Culture Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and contractors. Conduct new hire safety orientation. Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and employee involvement. Ensure contractor safety requirements are met. Operational Support Partner with engineering and facilities teams on equipment installations and process changes. Support lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, machine guarding, and electrical safety programs. Participate in capital projects to ensure EHS requirements are incorporated into design and commissioning activities. Required Education & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field. 1 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, HVAC, or related environments. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS management systems. Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Why Choose Modine?
