Job Description

The Nurse Clinician Specialty Ambulatory RN is a registered nurse with specialized clinical expertise who provides comprehensive patient care, education, and care coordination in an ambulatory setting. Working collaboratively with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team, this role assesses patient needs, develops individualized care plans, promotes quality outcomes, and supports evidence-based nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care while promoting patient safety, quality, and cost-effective care.

  • Assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate care with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team.

  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and modify care plans as needed.

  • Educate patients, families, and nursing staff to support health management and professional development.

  • Perform comprehensive health assessments and apply clinical judgment to develop nursing diagnoses and care priorities.

  • Maintain clinical competency and apply specialized knowledge appropriate to the assigned practice area.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety, cultural diversity, and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain current knowledge of professional standards, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an equivalent combination of education and specialty RN experience.

  • Current Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

  • Two years of experience in the related nursing specialty.
