2nd Shift Lead - 2pm to 1:30am M-Th

Paper Dimensions is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Production Lead to oversee second shift manufacturing operations while actively contributing to daily production. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional looking to step into a leadership role while remaining engaged on the production floor.

This position currently leads a small second-shift team of four employees, including two machine operators and two utility team members. As the company continues to grow, this role will evolve into a larger leadership position with opportunities to help build the team through hiring, training, and employee development.

As a working Production Lead, you'll split your time between operating equipment, supporting production, and leading the shift. Typical responsibilities include:

• Operate production equipment and assist with machine setup and troubleshooting (approximately 35%)

• Perform material handling and move raw materials and finished products throughout the facility (approximately 30%)

• Complete production support tasks such as wrapping finished rolls, cutting cores, assembling boxes, and preparing orders for shipment (approximately 15%)

• Lead, mentor, train, and support a team of production employees while coordinating daily workflow and maintaining production priorities (approximately 20%)

Because this is a lean manufacturing environment, the Production Lead is expected to be comfortable stepping into multiple roles to keep production running efficiently. The successful candidate will learn to operate several production assets to provide coverage during vacations, call-offs, or other staffing needs.

• Lead daily second-shift production activities while working alongside the team.

• Coordinate workflow and staffing to meet production schedules.

• Train, coach, and mentor production employees.

• Promote a safe workplace and ensure compliance with quality, GMP, SQF, and food safety standards.

• Complete production documentation and communicate shift performance to management.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and teamwork.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and help prepare the department for future growth.

• Two or more years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a lead or supervisory capacity.

• Experience operating manufacturing equipment in a production environment.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to train and motivate employees while maintaining accountability.

• Experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts or clamp trucks is preferred, or willingness to become certified.

• Knowledge of GMP, SQF, food safety, or quality systems is a plus.

• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Comfortable working around production equipment and industrial machinery.

• Ability to wear required PPE and work in varying temperatures and noise levels.
