Description and Requirements

Job Description Summary:

The Senior Manager of Profit Management is a critical leadership role responsible for driving profitable growth across the entire REL business. This leader will build and lead a high-performing team of Profit Managers who proactively identify, shape, and execute opportunities to improve revenue, margin, and overall business performance. This role goes beyond deal support, owning a holistic view of profit across pipeline, backlog, pricing, cost structure, and portfolio, and partnering across Sales, Business Management, Finance, Product, and Alliances to unlock incremental value. The ideal candidate brings strong financial and commercial acumen, deep analytical capability, and executive presence to influence senior stakeholders and drive disciplined, insight-led decisions at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead & Build a High-Impact Profit Management Function

  • Recruit, develop, and lead a team of Profit Managers focused on end-to-end profit optimization
  • Establish a culture of proactive opportunity identification across the business-not just reactive deal support
  • Position the team as strategic partners to Sales and BMs, driving both growth and profitability

Drive Holistic Profit Strategy Across REL

  • Own and lead profitability strategies across segments, verticals, and product categories
  • Identify and close gaps across revenue, margin, AUR, cost, and mix
  • Develop and execute profit improvement plans, including pricing, cost, portfolio, and funding levers

Proactively Identify & Unlock Profit Opportunities

  • Drive visibility to opportunities across pipeline, backlog, installed base, and underperforming segments
  • Push teams to uncover incremental profit through pricing, upsell/cross-sell, cost optimization, and funding strategies
  • Ensure early engagement in business planning cycles to shape outcomes, not react to them

Own Profit Cadence, Performance Management & Insights

  • Lead regular profit cadences (P&L, bridge, pipeline, and performance reviews)
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights on profit drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Establish consistent measurement via scorecards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks

Elevate Analytical & Pricing Capabilities

  • Advance the use of data, analytics, and financial modeling to guide decision-making
  • Oversee development of tools and models (profit bridges, pricing intelligence, win/loss, pipeline modeling)
  • Ensure the team delivers recommendations that drive action, not just reporting

Drive Strategic Deal Support (as Part of Broader Profit Ownership)

  • Oversee approach to complex and strategic deals, ensuring optimal structure and margin outcomes
  • Guide team to influence deals early in the lifecycle and align to broader profit strategy
  • Integrate deal-level decisions into overall segment and portfolio profitability

Influence Cross-Functional Decision Making

  • Partner across Sales, Business Management, Finance, Product, Supply, and Alliances
  • Act as a trusted advisor with executive presence, influencing senior leaders on profit-focused decisions
  • Provide input into pricing policies, DOA, funding strategies, and portfolio positioning

Drive Operational Excellence & Discipline

  • Ensure rigor in business case development, deal modeling, and profit tracking
  • Improve forecast accuracy, pipeline visibility, and backlog profit performance
  • Standardize best practices across the team for speed, consistency, and impact

What Success Looks Like

  • Profit Management recognized as a core strategic lever for REL performance
  • Clear, measurable improvement in margin, mix, and overall profitability
  • Strong alignment with Sales and BM teams, with early-stage influence on business decisions
  • A proactive organization consistently surfacing and capturing new profit opportunities
  • Scalable, data-driven tools and insights embedded across the business

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, pricing, sales strategy, or commercial operations
  • Proven experience leading teams and driving cross-functional impact
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to translate data into business actions
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior and executive stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in technology or commercial sales environments
  • Expertise in pricing strategy, profitability management, and deal structuring
  • Track record of building or transforming business functions
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills (Excel and related tools)
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments
