Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Lead Architect who will own the end-to-end strategy, engineering, and operations of the Microsoft 365 platform, with deep expertise across Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and the broader Office 365 ecosystem.

This role blends infrastructure leadership, platform engineering, and emerging technology adoption, including modern capabilities such as Microsoft Purview, Agent365, Frontier, and Copilot-driven services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can drive both day-to-day operations and long-term roadmap execution across a global enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

1. Microsoft 365 Platform Ownership

  • Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for Microsoft 365 services across the enterprise
  • Manage the health, performance, and availability of core services including:
    • Exchange Online (mail flow, routing, hybrid integrations)
    • Microsoft Teams (collaboration, voice, meetings, external access)
    • OneDrive for Business (sync, sharing, storage lifecycle)
  • Ensure scalable, secure, and compliant platform operations aligned with enterprise standards

2. Infrastructure & Engineering Leadership

  • Lead design, configuration, and optimization of Microsoft 365 tenant and workloads
  • Drive modernization across:
    • Messaging infrastructure (Exchange Online + hybrid)
    • Unified Communications (Teams platform)
    • Storage and collaboration (OneDrive, SharePoint integration)
  • Oversee L2/L3 engineering support and escalation management for complex issues
  • Establish automation and operational efficiencies across provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management

3. Security, Compliance & Data Governance

  • Partner with security teams to implement controls across the M365 ecosystem, including:
    • Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, information governance)
    • Identity and access controls (Conditional Access, Zero Trust alignment)
  • Ensure data protection, compliance, and governance across Exchange, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Support enterprise initiatives for data lifecycle management and regulatory compliance

4. Emerging Technology & AI Enablement

  • Evaluate and adopt next-gen Microsoft capabilities, including:
    • Agent365 / AI agents and automation frameworks
    • Microsoft Frontier and AI-driven platforms
    • Copilot integration across M365 workloads
  • Drive enterprise readiness for agentic AI, automation, and intelligent workflows
  • Align platform capabilities with future digital workplace and AI strategy

5. Governance & Operating Model

  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, standards, and SOPs for M365 services
  • Define and enforce RACI, policies, and lifecycle controls
  • Lead cross-functional governance with:
    • Cybersecurity
    • Compliance / Legal
    • Infrastructure and Application teams
  • Drive architecture review and platform decision-making processes

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary SME and escalation point for Microsoft 365 platform decisions
  • Collaborate with global teams across US, Israel, and India delivery models
  • Communicate platform strategy, risks, and roadmap to technical and executive stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams and external vendors

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years.

Technical Expertise

  • 8+ years experience in Microsoft 365 / Office 365 platform engineering
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Exchange Online (mail flow, hybrid, security)
    • Microsoft Teams (collaboration, voice, policy management)
    • OneDrive & SharePoint integration
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Purview (DLP, retention, data governance)
    • Identity & access management (Entra ID, Conditional Access)
    • Proofpoint / email security ecosystems
    • Hybrid Exchange environments
    • Automation tools (Power Platform, scripting)
  • Prior experience in M&A integration or global IT transformations
  • Experience managing large-scale enterprise environments (10K+ users)
  • Emerging Tech & Innovation
    • AI-enabled workplace solutions (Copilot, automation platforms)
    • Agent-based architectures and enterprise AI workflows
    • Strong understanding of modern digital workplace transformation trends
  • Leadership & Operational Experience
  • Proven ability to:
    • Lead global engineering and operations teams
    • Manage platform roadmaps and execution at scale
    • Drive operational excellence and service reliability
  • Experience working across infrastructure, security, and application domains

Base Pay Range: $111,100.00 - $188,900.00 Annually Primary Location: USA-MI-Ann Arbor-KLA KLA's total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.
