Job Summary

The Lead Engineer - Scrum is responsible for facilitating Agile development processes and ensuring Scrum principles, practices, and methodologies are effectively implemented across engineering teams. This role serves as a servant leader, coach, and facilitator, helping teams achieve high performance through continuous improvement, collaboration, and adherence to Agile frameworks. The Lead Engineer - Scrum works closely with software engineers, systems engineers, validation teams, product stakeholders, and leadership to drive successful project execution, remove impediments, and support the delivery of high-quality products and solutions.

Job Responsibilities



  • Guide and coach Agile teams on Scrum principles, Agile methodologies, and best practices.
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.
  • Promote self-organization, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within Agile teams.
  • Identify and remove impediments that impact team productivity and project success.
  • Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams, stakeholders, and leadership to support project and product objectives.
  • Drive Agile adoption and ensure adherence to Scrum frameworks, processes, and standards.
  • Support team development by identifying strengths, improvement opportunities, and coaching needs.
  • Facilitate effective communication between cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitor team performance metrics and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Configure and manage Agile project management tools, workflows, schemas, and project attributes.
  • Support workflow optimization and process efficiency through tool administration and process enhancements.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and guidance on Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Collaborate with Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and organizational leaders to advance Agile maturity.
  • Support compliance with software development processes, quality standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Assist teams with process adherence, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and customers.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Team Lead, or similar Agile leadership role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading engineering or technical teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development or software engineering environments.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Scaled Agile frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum principles, Agile practices, and software development lifecycles.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of project management, workflow optimization, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus across multiple teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative and cross-functional environments.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading engineering teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years of software development experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting Agile development teams as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Team Lead, or equivalent role.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other enterprise Agile methodologies preferred.
  • Experience administering and configuring Agile project management tools preferred.
  • Experience supporting software quality processes, compliance programs, and process improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience within embedded systems, industrial automation, automotive, powertrain, electro-mechanical systems, or related engineering environments preferred.
  • Experience with requirements management, configuration management, and software testing processes preferred.
  • Experience with ASPICE, CMMI, or similar software quality frameworks preferred.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), AUTOSAR, functional safety standards, cybersecurity standards, and software architecture principles preferred.
