REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • BA/BS in a field pertinent to the position being filled. 5 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for the BA/BS degree requirement
  • 7 years of relevant experience
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance
  • Experience working in a fast paced, professional environment with the ability to adjust/react to short notice requirements changes, deadlines, changing schedules, competing priorities, and unpredictable events
  • Capable of working as a team member to solve test planning, integration, execution, and analysis problems
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense System components and system-level topics

HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • In depth knowledge of the Missile Defense System (MDS) capability
  • In depth knowledge of MDA test planning, processes and execution
  • Experience in developing standardized plans, processes, and checklists
  • Self-motivated; possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Proficient with Windows-based PC software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Flight Test Engineer is essential for coordinating plans and processes, training personnel, and supporting flight test execution of flight tests. This role is responsible for supporting the government customer in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for MDA flight test personnel. The primary objective is to ensure that the test training program runs efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with established procedures, providing the backbone for successful mission execution. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the execution and management of on-console and classroom training schedules for all personnel across MDA and its partners. Identify, generate, and manage schedules, course requirements, and resource allocation to ensure operational readiness
  • Development and implementation of standardized plans, processes, and checklists to enhance program efficiency. Manage essential documentation to support mission execution and post-test activities
  • Providing leadership with clear reports and tools to assess the certification and readiness status of the Mission Execution Team. Ensure all personnel and resources are aligned and prepared for assigned flight test missions
  • Providing on-site support at deployed locations, acting as a key coordinator for Test Directors and Chief Evaluators
  • Development and implementation of robust evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of training programs. Analyze feedback and performance data to continuously improve training content and delivery
