Overview
Position Summary This position is for employment with NYK Group Americas Inc. The role will be a member of the NGA RORO NSA BPM team to provide service to business stakeholders across NSA Region in support of RORO business processes and their associated IT systems, including PRESTO, TOM, and other local systems. The responsibility includes business process analysis, as well as business process improvement through process rationalization and system enhancement. The role requires work with internal groups such as BPM (CAR BPM, Regional BPM, Local BPM) and NBS (NBSA, NBST, NBSSA, NBSE), as well as external groups such as customers, vendors and customs authorities. The Help Desk supports functions such as Sales, Trade, Customer Service, Documentation, AR, Operations, Cost Control, AP, Customs, and EDI. In addition to the BPM Help Desk, there will be responsibility to complete projects in support of NSA RORO Region. Compensation: $80,000-$90,000
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
Project Coordination & Collaboration
Participate in regular BPM team meetings to:
- Share project status, risks, and issues
- Present proposed solutions
- Collaborate on business process and system improvements
Conduct recurring (e.g., weekly) project meetings with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to:
- Facilitate discussions
- Capture and investigate issues
- Identify and demonstrate solutions
Collaborate with NSA BPM Manager/Supervisor and Secaucus-based team members on project planning and execution
Business Requirements & System Enhancements
Document and communicate business requirements to NBSA for local system enhancements, ensuring a clear understanding of business needs Partner with NBSA to:
- Review UAT demonstrations prior to testing
- Build shared understanding of enhancements and expected functionality
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system enhancements and defect tickets Communicate UAT defects to NBSA via tickets, email, and meetings, and:
- Assess defect priority
- Define and execute resolution plans collaboratively
Additional Responsibilities
Execution & Coordination
Manage resolution of business process and system-related issues and requests Lead and support projects focused on:
- Business process improvements
- System enhancements
Develop project plans for system releases and ad hoc initiatives Conduct regular status meetings with:
- Business stakeholders
- BPM team (Tokyo)
- IT teams, as required
Perform business analysis to:
- Identify issues
- Recommend effective solutions
Gather and document business requirements from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) Compile and analyze business cases for system enhancements, including ROI assessments (benefits vs. cost) for management approval Provide formal sign-off on:
- Business requirements
- QA test scenarios and results
- UAT results and production readiness
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
Provide regular status updates to management, including:
- Progress
- Risks and issues
- Mitigation plans
Monitor business process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) Escalate risks, delays, or quality concerns that impact project success
System & Process Oversight
Create and manage enhancement/defect tickets:
- Track progress
- Perform follow-ups
- Report status to stakeholders
Identify and communicate business priorities for system enhancements within specific domains Define, gather, and refine KPIs for assigned business areas

- Business Knowledge - understands RoRo Business and / or Shipping/Ocean Carrier related business and has experience with associated business functions (preferred, but not required).
- Business Analysis - experience documenting Business and Functional requirements, as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite of modules including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio.PREFERRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required WORK EXPERIENCE 3-5 years of Business Analyst experience and / or 3-5 years of Shipping Business experience.
