RGNext employees execute and report on theater and strategic offensive and defensive ballistic missile testing and support space situational awareness operations and experiments, using a wide array of highly sophisticated radar, telemetry and optical sensors to meet the needs of our nation in defending the United States and its interests. This overseas position is located on Roi-Namur, on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position (no family accommodations or pets). - Provide operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for L-band and S-band receiver systems, which is a combination of both commercial and custom components, to include providing directions to technicians assisting in accomplishing these tasks.
- Participate in improvement and modernization efforts to include all phases of development from design through system acceptance.
- Provide status reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to the Sensor Manager regarding the receiver systems.
- Update and maintain system documentation to include manuals, preventative maintenance schedules, procedures, and drawings.
- Maintain a safety conscious work environment in cooperation with the Safety department.
- Collaborate with other groups to include complimentary engineering disciplines to ensure sensor availability is maximized.
- Lead procurement and sparing efforts to include initial component research, vendor selection, and all subsequent actions to ensure necessary components and materials are on hand to support continuous operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or a degree in a related STEM discipline.
- Zero or more years of related experience.
- Circuit troubleshooting skills and the experience reading and interpreting schematics.
- General knowledge of analog-to-digital conversion of RF signals
- General knowledge of Analog/ Radio Frequency (RF) components such as amplifiers, couplers, hybrids, feed structure, filter receivers, exciters, transponders, RF switches, isolators, attenuators, waveguides, etc.
- Familiarity with high power components, receiver systems, analog and digital control hardware, and RFI shielding practices.
- Knowledge of signal modulation, digital pulses, spread spectrum, signal detection, interface analysis, and baseband filtering.
- Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment, preferably to include high power RF measurement techniques.
- Understanding of the unique safety issues associated with working at high power RF that are common in this work environment.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizen is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ability to climb to and work at heights up to 100 feet.
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
- Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands, Roi-Namur Island.
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Field Installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and/or acceptance testing of radar or similar systems, to include high power RF.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of receiver architecture.
- Mission operations and test range systems experience.
- Thorough understanding of the radar range equation and frequency correlation, understanding of receiver gain, noise figure, and their measurement methods.
