Job Description

We are looking for a highly capableUnderwriting Assistant to support our Tax Liability team. This position will provide support and assistance to the overall underwriting function through maintaining policies and procedures, processing underwriting transactions, data research and analysis, and other various tasks, as needed.

This role will work onsite 5x per week from our New York City, NY office location.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Assist underwriters in carrying out their essential duties and responsibilities to enhance the overall performance of the division through utilization of systems and guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate and complete underwriting files and records.

  • Prepare binders and policies for underwriters' review and approval.

  • Interact with brokers to assist with invoicing, follow up for underlying information, subjectivities as well as addressing account inquiries.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with underwriters, brokers and business partners.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Core qualifications and requirements for this position include:

  • Responsiveness is key. Must be able to function effectively in a time sensitive and fast-paced environment

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized yet flexible and adaptable to changing direction, adjusting priorities and/or work on multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Mustadhere to confidentiality rules, professional ethics, and integrity in handling all client matters,including documents and information

  • Able to work autonomously, proactively and able to work with limited supervision and in team environments

  • College degree required with strong preference given to prior exposure to law and/or finance settings

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Professional, ability to maintain a positive working relationship

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

  • New York City Pay Range: $65,382 - $79,458
