Position Summary

Supports the Purchasing Manager in managing indirect materials and services by handling day-to-day purchasing execution and operational support activities. Responsibilities include supplier coordination, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) support, compliance oversight, and participation in sourcing initiatives, supplier performance management, and spend analysis.

As experience is gained, the role is expected to evolve to include greater account ownership, leading strategic sourcing initiatives, and contributing to the development of category strategies.

Key Responsibilities



  • Execute daily purchasing activities, including purchase requisition support, purchase order creation, order confirmations, and invoice issue resolution.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of materials and services while maintaining accurate procurement records; participate in purchase order review and approval processes within assigned authority.
  • Support material planners, site teams, and internal stakeholders with SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) settings, inventory parameters, and best-practice standardization.
  • Manage the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process, supporting PR development, PO issuance, order tracking, and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Analyze spend, support sourcing initiatives, conduct bid analysis, and assist with negotiations for assigned categories including site services, MRO, professional services, supplies, and capital-related purchases.
  • Lead supplier onboarding, transitions, and material/service changes; coordinate cross-functional efforts to integrate new suppliers or offerings.
  • Ensure suppliers meet company standards for safety, quality, and compliance; support internal policy adherence and controls.
  • Support the hazardous material management program, ensuring proper setup, documentation, and coordination across stakeholders where applicable.
  • Perform data analysis using Excel, SAP, and other systems to support reporting, supplier master data, material setup, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support contract development, pricing updates, and lifecycle management within procurement systems.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to learn SAP, BW, and other procurement systems.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, value-driven environment.
* Basic negotiation skills and understanding of business and contracting principles.
* Prior experience in purchasing or sourcing is a plus.
