Paid Time Off:

Position Description

Starting Salary: $150,000 - $200,000; depending on experience

Location: Lynnwood, WA

Classification: Exempt

Position Overview:

Expand UMC's presence and revenue by developing, maintaining, and growing the Healthcare Market. In addition, supporting the growth of Laboratories and Life Sciences and developing relationships with stakeholders targeting strategic customers. Procure mechanical construction projects through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop new business for the company.
  2. Develop, manage, and maintain client relationships and accounts.
  3. Lead and/or assist in the development of RFP and RFQ responses.
  4. Participate in client interviews.
  5. Be proficient in developing conceptual estimates at an early stage in the project.
  6. Accurately maintain and update the budget throughout preconstruction.
  7. Communicate and turn over complete, detailed estimates to construction team.
  8. Perform construction feasibility studies on third party designs.
  9. Consult with clients on the design of their facility - facilitate design process throughout preconstruction, resulting in a budget-based design that meets the client's needs.
  10. Perform and/or manage design work as needed.
  11. Review budget estimates.
  12. Understand and follow the UMC AIM processes as applicable.
  13. Be professional and uphold UMC Core Values.
  14. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions.
  15. Depending on experience and client expectations, may be required to perform the functions of the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager for a project.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the bid process and the procurement of new work.
  2. Procure, develop, and maintain client contacts/relations.
  3. Participate in the Catalytic Coaching process.
Position Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to accurately estimate mechanical work.
  2. Ability to lead and foster a positive working environment.
  3. Ability to understand and communicate basic mechanical concepts.
  4. Advanced organizational and time management skills
  5. Attention to detail - errors & mistakes can result in significant financial losses.
  6. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  7. Strong work ethic - results driven.
  8. Ability to multi-task job responsibilities.
  9. Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, Access, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, CRM.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  1. May be required to supervise Senior Project Managers, Project Manager, Project Engineers, and estimators. May supervise the marketing effort on proposals.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. A minimum of ten years' experience as a mechanical project manager
  2. Construction Management or Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering degree desired.

Required Licensing and Other Certifications:

  1. Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
