The Director of HR Operations provides leadership and oversight for Medica's HR operational function. This role ensures HR services are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and at scale while leading and developing a high-performing HR operations team. The Director, HR Operations partners closely with HR leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to support business needs and a strong employee experience. This position reports to the VP of HR Operations & Integrations.

Responsibilities:



  • Lead and oversee HR operations, including HR Technology and systems, payroll, data and reporting, and the HR Service Center, and plan, organize, and evaluate strategies, processes, and initiatives to ensure consistent, accurate, compliant, and effective delivery aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for HR technology, serving as a subject matter expert to the team while advancing solutions that enhance the employee experience, improve processes, increase automation, and leverage AI-enabled capabilities to support operational effectiveness and business needs.
  • Lead the talent data strategy and scorecards to strengthen workforce insights, decision-making, and accountability across HR and the business.
  • Lead, coach, and develop teams responsible for HR operations, HR systems, payroll, reporting, and employee service delivery; set clear expectations and manage performance.
  • Establish governance, operational standards, controls, and metrics to support efficiency, quality, and data integrity across HR processes, systems, payroll, reporting, and the HR Service Center.
  • Partner closely with the business, HR leadership team, and IT to align systems, employee data, and operational priorities, serving as a key leader and connector across work to enable effective execution and decision-making.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities across HR operations, balancing efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Manage operational risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, procedures, and internal standards.
  • Lead and support HR projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in HR or a related operational function.
  • At least 3 years of people management experience, with a track record of developing teams.
  • Strong operational leadership, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Clear, effective communicator who builds strong partnerships.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience leading HR operations in a midtolarge organization.
  • Experience working with HR systems and operational metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR compliance and risk management practices.



This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $130,300-$223,400. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $130,300-$195,510. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
