DTECH is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components. This role works collaboratively within a cross functional engineering team to develop reliable, manufacturable designs that meet performance, quality, and schedule objectives. A successful candidate applies sound mechanical engineering fundamentals, contributes to problem solving, and continues to develop technical depth under the guidance of senior engineers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Owns the mechanical design and development of assemblies and systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Develops detailed mechanical designs, performs engineering calculations, and uses simulation tools to evaluate performance as required.
- Creates and updates engineering documentation including drawings, design specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).
- Participates in design reviews and incorporates feedback to ensure quality and compliance with requirements.
- Collaborates with crossfunctional team members (electrical, manufacturing, test, and program teams) to ensure designs meet functional and operational needs.
- Assists with early concept development by evaluating design alternatives for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Supports prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities, including documenting results and recommended improvements.
- Ensures designs follow applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and internal design guidelines.
- Works with vendors to evaluate components and materials and supports sourcing activities as needed.
- Continuously develops knowledge of mechanical engineering tools, techniques, and emerging technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of mechanical design, analysis, and testing principles.
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering concepts such as stress analysis, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials.
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred); exposure to FEA and simulation tools is a plus.
- Experience or coursework related to thermal analysis or airflow modeling preferred, but not required.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information within an engineering team.
- Familiarity with mechanical packaging of electronics or ruggedized assemblies is a plus.
- Exposure to industry or military standards (e.g., MILSTD810, MILSTD461) preferred but not required.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain US DOD Security Clearence
Cubic Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 + benefits.
The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
