The A&R Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and creative support to the EVP, A&R as well as general support for the NY team. This role is central to keeping projects, communication, and workflows moving smoothly across artists, internal teams, and external partners.
What you'll do:
- Role model SMG's Global People Promise, Values and Behaviors in all that you do, helping to drive a sustainable high-performance culture within our business
- Serve as a primary liaison between the EVP and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, artists, managers, producers, creative teams, and industry partners.
- Manage the EVP's daily operations, including scheduling, travel coordination, expenses, and meeting preparation.
- Coordinate project updates, timelines, and asset distribution across internal departments to ensure alignment and timely execution.
- Assist in managing artist budgets, artist travel, and project-related expenses; prepare and process expense reports and invoices accurately and on schedule.
- Support marketing and creative initiatives by coordinating campaign elements, reviewing materials, and collaborating with Creative, Digital, and Marketing teams on advertising, content, and packaging.
- Attend meetings, showcases, and events as a representative of the A&R department when needed.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with 2-4 years of administrative or project coordination experience in music, entertainment, marketing, or a related field. Experience at a major label or music company (1-2 years) strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort with digital tools, databases, and analytics platforms. Familiarity with Luminate, Concur and internal label systems is a plus.
- Deep passion for music and a strong understanding of current trends, artists, and the evolving digital landscape.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with talent, executives, and partners.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable, with strong problem solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime for showcases, events, or time sensitive project needs.
