Perform professional administrative support duties for a program, department or specific functional area of the College. These duties and responsibilities involve varying degrees of complexity and confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of the job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated on this description.
- Provide ongoing administrative support to the department/function to ensure efficient office operations i.e. correspondence, records, reports, calendars, etc.
- Provide support for the day-to-day activities related to the financial responsibilities of the department re: budget, expense reports, purchasing, etc.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of on- and off-campus meetings, events and/or workshops.
- Provide reception support i.e. answer and screen telephone calls, greet and interact with the public, students, faculty and staff.
- Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. Provide back-up support services, as required.
- Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities.
- Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.

Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Interpersonal communication skills - oral, written and listening
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to attend closely to detailed work, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes
- Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with computer software applications such as word processing and spreadsheets
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Administrative Assistant Level 3 -
- Employees in this third senior level work under minimal supervision and require greater knowledge, training and/or experience than level 2. The amount of work review, checks, and supervision are less for an employee at level 3 than at level 2. Complexity or variety of work is higher than level 2 and may involve greater technical, mathematical, or scientific skills than level 2. In addition, the scope of assignments may vary when compared to level 2. The employee handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Typically requires an Associate degree and 2-4 years of experience and possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter. May act as a "lead", providing leadership and/or mentoring to subordinate individual(s) and/or groups.

The Administrative Assistant III-Auxiliary & Administrative Operations position is available to start after July 1st.
This is a 12-month position, working 40 hours per week.
Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility within that timeframe.
