As a Supervisor on the Environmental Services at the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) you will help us coordinate and implement Greenhouse Gas (GHG) or California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) programs and meet regulatory requirements in support of business unit operations. You will be responsible for resolving complex GHG air quality or CEQA related problems and oversee complex environmental projects. You will work with the Environmental Services (ES) Manager in planning, coordinating, prioritizing, monitoring and evaluating work results of ES Leads and Specialists and assist in the training, motivating, and developing of personnel. Purpose
Serves as a technical expert and supervisor to an Environmental Services team and oversees programs and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include:
Staff on an Environmental Services team may also perform tasks associated with pre-project environmental reviews (including coverage under the California Environmental Quality Act); providing project permitting and construction support (including but not limited to wetland regulations, special-status species, cultural and Tribal cultural resources, stormwater, hazardous materials business plans, hazardous waste, soil management, water quality, and air quality), greenhouse gas reporting, and sustainability efforts. There are four (4) levels in this job classification series that have similar job content but with progressively more challenging degrees and levels of skill, responsibility, knowledge, experience, and qualification requirements: Flex classifications (that permit progression from lower-level classes to higher level classes without examination based upon assessment of an individual's experience and performance) within the series:
Non-Flex classifications (that promote from lower-level classes to higher level classes and require an examination, such as an interview, based upon individual experience and performance) within the series.
Entry to Journey: Incumbents at the entry level are required to successfully "progress" to the journey level within 60 months of appointment to remain within the job series. Seniors and Supervisors must be hired through a promotional process and do not automatically progress from lower levels in the series. Duties and Responsibilities

Skills To
