Overview

Na Alii is looking for an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support the administration and execution of the Nakupuna Companies' Industrial Security Program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), 32 CFR Part 117, and applicable DoD and DCSA guidance.

This role reports to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in providing operational support across multiple cleared companies under the Nakupuna enterprise and assists in ensuring compliance with personnel, facility, information, and operational security requirements. The AFSO serves as a key member of the Security Team and works collaboratively with Personnel Security, Line of Business Contract Leads, and company leadership to maintain inspection readiness and deliver responsive security support across multiple lines of business.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational and analytical skills, and is capable of managing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and regulatory compliance.



Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Industrial Security Program Support:

    Support the day-to-day administration of the Industrial Security Program across multiple Nakupuna cleared companies.
  • Assist the FSO with implementation and oversight of NISPOM requirements and DCSA guidance.
  • Maintain compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 and associated security regulations.
  • Support contract security requirements and DD Form 254 management activities.
  • Assist with preparation for DCSA inspections, self-inspections, and corrective action tracking.

Personnel Security Support:

  • Coordinate with Personnel Security on onboarding, transfers, separations, and clearance verification activities.
  • Assist with Visit Authorization Requests (VARs), clearance verifications, and visit processing as required.
  • Support indoctrinations, debriefings, and security briefings.
  • Assist with foreign travel reporting and related security requirements.
  • Provide surge support for personnel security actions during periods of increased operational demand.

Security Operations & Contract Support:

  • Serve as a contract security lead for assigned lines of business and/or contracts.
  • Develop and maintain contract specific security process guides and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers to ensure contract security requirements are met.
  • Conduct recurring contract lead meetings and support onboarding/offboarding coordination.
  • Track contract security actions and maintain awareness of program-specific risks and requirements.
  • Provide feedback for data calls and RFP/RFQ reviews.
  • Attend contract kickoff meetings.
  • Assist with coordinating and prioritizing day-to-day security team actions to ensure timely execution of operational requirements and adherence to service level expectations.
  • Support workload balancing across the Security Team by helping identify high-priority actions, operational bottlenecks, and areas requiring surge support.
  • Assist with monitoring team workflows, tracking action status, and ensuring accountability for assigned security tasks and deliverables.
  • Provide operational support to the FSO by helping maintain visibility of team tasking, metrics, and ongoing security activities across multiple companies and contracts.
  • Deliver responsive, accurate, and compliant security support across assigned contracts and companies
  • Maintain strong communication and coordination with Program Managers and internal stakeholders
  • Support inspection readiness and continuous improvement efforts

Security Systems, Metrics & Workflow Management:

  • Utilize security systems and tools including:
    • DISS
    • NBIS
    • NISS/NCAISS
    • SWFT
    • Sign In Compliance (ThreatSwitch)
    • FreshService Helpdesk
  • Monitor and manage security requests within established service level agreement (SLA) expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records and tracking within SIC, Microsoft Lists, SharePoint, and other systems of record.
  • Assist with security-related data analytics, metrics tracking, and reporting to support compliance monitoring, workload management, and inspection readiness.
  • Support development and tracking of security metrics related to onboarding, foreign travel, training, investigations, and other security program activities.
  • Assist with workflow improvements and process standardization efforts.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused security culture

Training, Compliance & Awareness:

  • Assist with administration and tracking of required security training.
  • Support employee awareness initiatives related to:
    • Foreign travel
    • Insider threat
    • Security reporting requirements
    • Annual security training
  • Promote security best practices and reinforce compliance expectations across the enterprise.

Additional Information:
  • This position supports multiple Nakupuna Companies and requires the ability to adapt to changing priorities, shifting workloads, and evolving customer requirements while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compliance.
  • Remote position within the United States; candidate must be available during East Coast business hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support meetings, onboarding, inspections, team collaboration activities, or other security related requirements.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred)
  • High school diploma required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience supporting Industrial Security or Personnel Security programs
  • Completion of DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities curriculum
  • Working knowledge of:
    • 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM)
    • DCSA processes and requirements
    • Personnel security lifecycle management
  • Experience with DCSA systems including:
    • DISS
    • NBIS
    • NISS/NCAISS
    • SWFT
  • Experience utilizing Sign In Compliance (ThreatSwitch) or similar compliance/workflow management systems
  • Experience supporting multiple cleared facilities or companies simultaneously
  • Prior experience supporting DCSA inspections, self-inspections, and corrective action tracking
  • Experience assisting with security related metrics tracking, reporting, or compliance analytics
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or assisting with management of day-to-day team operations, task prioritization, workload balancing, or workflow oversight in a security or compliance environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with contract security administration and DD254 management
  • Experience working in a shared services or enterprise support environment
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Lists, or other reporting/dashboard tools preferred
  • Experience with ACCS and SPOT

Location: Remote (U.S.-based) - Must support East Coast business hours. Occasional travel required.


Clearance Requirement:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (active clearance preferred). Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
