Job Description

Position Overview:

The Military Product Business Development Directors objective is to achieve specific tactical and strategic sales targets over our Military Aerospace and Defense Customers. The Business Development Director will be responsible for establishing multi-level relationships, providing market intelligence, prospect-assigned accounts, introduce, and present our products and services, write technical and commercial proposals in support of requests for information (RFI's) and Requests for proposals (RFP's) from assigned Government customers. The Business Development Director will also manage each assigned accounts' performance (i.e., delivery, quality, contract), address and resolve issues as they arise and communicate with assigned accounts often. The Business Development Director will develop relevant tools (electronic and conventional), in conjunction with appropriate internal resources and management direction, necessary to effectively represent, manage, support, and promote our organization to assigned customers.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Build, maintain profitable and professional relationships with customers on a routine basis, through implementation of organized and focused programs in responsible territory.
  • Promoting new business opportunities and implementing long-term strategies for repeat business.
  • Monitor government contracting agencies to document and understand where new defense contracts are being placed and where our products can support.
  • Identify new opportunities for our products at the design stage of any new program or redesign/retrofit of existing fleet. Maintain relationships at the proper levels within each customer organization to ensure we capitalize on any new opportunity.

  • Responsible for the growth of sales volume through regular travel, close customer contact, technical assistance and product support.
  • Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to the COO & VPs of Sales.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals for customer RFQ's for military programs.
  • Responsible for identifying, proposing, and closing potential sales of Military customers in our markets.
  • Present yearly Sales/Business Plan to COO and VPs of Sales for responsible territory with goals, key customers, competitors, ideas to increase sales revenue and product support for both new and established customer base.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly updates with key customers and representatives to maintain accurate forecasts and deliveries.
  • Serve as a multi plant liaison partnering with KAM's to leverage the PCC commercial toolbox to drive consistent processes.
  • Extensive travel is needed throughout territory to present technical discussions and contract negotiations with customers and representatives for the expansion of sales revenue.

Requirements:

  • Strong problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Experience in the Military Aerospace and Defense industry
  • 5-7 years Military Aerospace and Defense Technical Sales Experience
  • Exceptional communications and presentation skills-both verbal and written
  • Be able to work in a virtual environment with a high degree of self-motivation and independence.
  • Four-year college degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is occasionally high.

For informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for this role is $200,000 to $240,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 30% of the applicable annual base salary, based on the Company's performance in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
