The role

Our Le Sueur, MN team is looking to add a dependable, detail-focused Cheese Packager to help keep production moving smoothly and ensure every product leaving the line meets Agropur's quality and food safety standards.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and understands the importance of being the final set of eyes before product reaches the customer; from monitoring the packaging process and inspecting cheese blocks for quality concerns to troubleshooting equipment, labeling product accurately, and working closely with teammates to keep the line running efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the packaging and casing process.

  • Safe operation, sanitation, and maintenance of equipment.

  • Monitor the complete process for safety, efficiency, and quality.

  • Maintain the packaging room, casing room, and dry storage in a clean and sanitary fashion.

  • Adhere to all quality system requirements.

  • Follow standard procedures and work instructions outlined in SOP's and Master Sanitation Schedules.

  • Understand and comply with all Quality Assurance policies, and immediate reporting of any potential food safety issues to management.

  • May assist in changing of mold sizes and cleanup of cheese molder and cooker/stretcher as needed, along with the manufacture of the starter to conform with internal specifications and expectations, and dumping of salt into hopper or brine.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Adhere to company's safety protocols, including stopping any observed unsafe acts and obeying facility safety rules and procedures, correct or report any observed safety hazards, and support safety policies and programs.

Profile sought

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience required. Previous experience in manufacturing, food production, packaging, warehouse operations, machine operation, or other fast-paced industrial environments is preferred. Candidates with experience following safety and quality standards, working as part of a production team, or operating automated/touchscreen equipment are strongly encouraged to apply.

Skills required

  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to documents and procedures (GLP, SOP, SDS, GMP, test procedures, and HACCP).

  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), as well as basic computer operational skills; must be able to input and retrieve computerized information.

  • Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; particularly complete simple checklists and other required documentation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and peers.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.

  • Demonstrate functional and technical knowledge, ability to learn new skills quickly, and achieve a high level of accomplishment.

  • Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.

  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
