Job Summary
The Leader Enterprise Architect owns the vision, principles, standards, and processes that guide the purchase, design, and deployment of critical technology at Key across the application architecture, business architecture, and infrastructure architecture areas.

Essential Functions

  • Define implementation architectures for Key's top projects based on the business needs and the reference architecture for Key.
  • Define critical business strategy and strategic domain architecture with the technology delivery teams.
  • Assist in the review and approval of the architecture for all critical delivery projects.
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field (preferred)
  • Master's Degree in technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline (preferred)
  • OR equivalent experience (required)

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, including leadership of large-scale, cross-functional technology initiatives. (preferred)
  • Experience in architecting enterprise applications across the application, data, and infrastructure domains. (preferred)
  • Experience in managing and driving enterprise architecture capabilities within a large corporation. (preferred)
  • Experience with Internet delivery architecture, messaging and web service architecture, sales delivery platform architectures and mobile architectures. (preferred)
  • Must be a Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus. Must be highly reliable, trustworthy, honest, and commitment oriented. (preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

  • TOGAF (preferred)
  • Zachman (preferred)
  • AWS/GCP/Azure Architect (preferred)
  • ITIL (preferred)

Skills

  • Deep expertise in frameworks like TOGAF and the ability to define and enforce architecture standards.
  • Translating business strategies into scalable, future-ready architecture solutions.
  • Designing and guiding implementation of complex, enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Broad technical knowledge across application, data, infrastructure, and business architecture domains.
  • Evaluating and applying new technologies to drive innovation and transformation.
  • Advising senior leadership and influencing strategic technology decisions.
  • Coaching architects and fostering a culture of architectural excellence.
  • Designing scalable, secure cloud-based and integrated systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with security standards and managing architectural risk.
  • Leading architecture in agile environments and enabling digital innovation.

Physical Demands

  • General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

Travel

  • Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96,000.00 - $181,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
