The Research Technician will be responsible for performing basic and preclinical research in a neurobiology laboratory utilizing molecular biology and biochemistry techniques which include western blotting, qPCR, immunohistochemistry and microscopy as well as in vivo behavioral assays in rodent models of headache and addiction. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Collect, process and label samples in accordance with protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Set up lab equipment following detailed instructions and procedures.
- Collaborate on experiments using basic bench research techniques in the development of new strategies, techniques and equipment along with their peers.
- Participate in preparing detailed research experimental reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative results.
- Clean, sterilize, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used for research.
- Collect and analyze molecular biology data.
- Provide routine administrative support to research projects (photocopies, files, and record keeping).

| Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- BS in biology, neuroscience, physiology, or related field.
- Prior experience with handling of small rodents and working in molecular biology is desirable.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
