Position Summary: The Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting with the management and supervision of the Extended Day Program, Summer Camp, Holiday Program and other special programs involving students in the Community School.

Essential Duties:



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist with designing and implementing programming that meets the educational and social needs of children in school.
  • Assist with conducting on-going assessments of children in order to provide appropriate services.
  • Meet with parents to discuss their child's progress.
  • Link children and their families to appropriate and needed services.
  • Address on-going behavior and emotional problems with children and their Refer to mental health services when appropriate.
  • Provide crisis management and conflict resolution to children and their families.
  • Collaborate with program staff and program leadership with designing, implementing and post activity for all holiday programming.
  • Develop relationships with parents through parent involvement strategies and post event activities regular communication.
  • Participate in hiring educational, support and program staff with the Program Director.
  • Support with maintaining and ensuring that all administrative details of the program are implemented: updating school age childcare and summer camp certificates, program registration, student enrollment forms, employee documentation, attendance, supply orders, etc.
  • In the absence of the Program Director, oversee the management of all programs and activities.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the Program Director and Community School Director.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree preferred or 3+ years of related program experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working with children and families.
  • At least a year of experience in administration.
