General Job Description Job Description IES Residential is seeking dependable and hardworking Electrical Helpers to assist with multi-family residential electrical projects in the Houston, TX area. This position supports licensed electricians during the rough-in, installation, and trim-out phases of electrical work on apartment and multi-family construction sites. The ideal candidate is motivated, eager to learn the electrical trade, follows directions well, and works safely in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities Assist electricians during rough-in by measuring, cutting, and bending wire using hand and power tools. Help install electrical components including outlets, lighting, switches, and fixtures. Carry, organize, and stage materials needed for electrical installations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Follow direction from supervisors and licensed electricians. Communicate effectively with team members and other trades on the job site. Report unsafe working conditions or incidents immediately. Assist with job site setup, material handling, and cleanup as needed. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 0-2 Specific Qualifications Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Must be able to pass background screening and required safety training. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Willingness to travel occasionally to different job sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Interest in developing a career in the electrical trade. Demonstrated leadership potential is a bonus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods. Ability to work in tight spaces, attics, and crawl spaces when necessary. Ability to work overhead and at heights when needed. Manual dexterity to safely operate hand tools and power tools. Work Environment Work is performed on multi-family residential construction job sites. Exposure to construction environments, dust, noise, and varying weather conditions. Must follow company safety procedures and PPE requirements at all times.
