Production Supervisor - New Johnsonville, TN

POSITION SUMMARY The production supervisor is responsible for supervising the production team in a manufacturing environment ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. The supervisor will manage staff, organize/monitor workflow, implement policies, and implement continuous process improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will be directly responsible for safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Safety - Production supervisor will implement Matheson's safety procedures. Safety logs will be maintained. A clean and safe work environment will be maintained. - Productivity - Production supervisor will implement continuous process improvement programs for the purpose of increasing productivity, decreasing costs, decreasing production cycle time, and decreasing quality issues. - Purchasing - Supervisor will be responsible for purchasing components required for building and refurbishing cryogenic food freezers and related equipment. Maintaining inventory at proper levels will be a requirement of the position. Supervisor will build relationships with vendors for the purpose of decreasing costs and improving quality. - Staff - Supervisor will maintain staff through recruiting and training. - Production Scheduling - Supervisor will establish production plan. Supervisor will schedule and assign personnel for the purpose of completing projects on time. The supervisor will coordinate with customers and Matheson employees to achieve customer satisfaction, provide project updates, revise schedules if required, and resolve issues. - Accounting - By working with company accountants, supervisor will track project costs and bill customers for work completed. - Field Service, Freezers - Supervisor will schedule field service for freezer maintenance and freezer installations. - Field Service, Pipe - Supervisor will schedule and manage quotes for Western Region pipe installations. - Finished Goods Inventory - Supervisor will manage the inventory of used food freezers. Supervisor will work with the marketing group to communicate freezer availability to Matheson sales force. - Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

HOURS OF WORK: Typical hours for this position are going to match the requirements of the customer base Monday through Friday and possibly some Saturday hours if applicable. This is a full-time position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises the local site employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Experience:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - College degree in engineering, engineering management, or significant related experience - 3+ Years plant, production, manufacturing, or equivalent experience. - Inventory management. - Must be able to perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity. - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Ability to perform basic administrative functions and problem solving - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Computer skills include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
