DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Regional Traffic Management Center Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing employees and projects within District 11's Regional Traffic Management Center Operation. You will supervise shift operators, as well as technical staff engaged in the operation of the Western Regional Transportation Management Center and the overall Freeway Surveillance and Control System. Share your guidance and expertise to assist in the development of standard operating procedures and protocols, while also delivering consistent precision and diligence to ensure all databases are well maintained and current. Within this role, it is essential to ensure successful coordination and communication during planning, incidents, and debriefings with police, fire, emergency-service, maintenance, television, and other news media personnel. Another primary area of focus entails keeping up-to-date on current Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology and using that knowledge to implement ITS projects to reduce traffic congestion. - Full-time employment
- Work schedule will vary to cover the Traffic Management Center, which is a 24/7 operation.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the probationary period and per manager's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Regional Traffic Management Center Operator (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience evaluating and coordinating information related to traffic data, incidents or conditions.
