Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage resources engaged in cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, DevOps and cloud automation, and cloud security.
  • Responsible for risk management, configuration management, release support, and assessment and authorization support to VA IT development/ migration and sustainment project(s)..
  • Direct and manage staff engaged in systems and cloud engineering activities..
  • Proactively monitor the performance of Programs and Program-related Projects and provide support with standards, policy, procedure and process development; technology refresh and configuration reviews, systems/network administration, network and telecommunications infrastructure, and operations and maintenance tasks..
  • Provide expert SME input to PMO and client leadership that will improve the overall maturity of the PMO and programs related to DevOps, cloud and system engineering..
  • Identify, communicate, mitigate and manage project risks.
  • Manage resources and project to cost, schedule and performance, aligned with timelines established in the Project schedule, monitor progress and establish reporting as required.
  • Prepare and deliver on time input to contractual deliverables.
  • Provide quality assurance over program/project deliverables and ensure timely submission of all contractual deliverables.
  • Apply scaled lean agile methodology and framework (SAFe)..
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of full systems development life cycle, enterprise wide network engineering, automation, DevOps, strategic information planning and migration to the cloud..
  • Assist our clients adopt the cloud to transform Information Technology, scale and streamline operations and create new cloud based solutions..
  • Focus on the enterprise architecture, including the design and implementation of network architecture and information storage to optimize innovation and program delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience required.
  • Experience managing program management tasks within VA, specifically working knowledge of VA's VIP management process and Rational Tool Suite.
  • Knowledge of methodologies, technologies, frameworks, and toolsets such as Agile methodology, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Pega technology, IBM Rational toolset, VIP, Project Management Institute Project Management Body of Knowledge, Lean Six Sigma (LSS), cloud hosting, DevOps, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology.
  • Extensive experience with ITaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Understanding of scaled agile development methodologies (SAFe).
  • Ability to obtain High-Risk Background Investigation (Tier 4) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leading SAFe certification (required).
  • 5 years' experience leading a Program using either LeSS or SAF required.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline.
  • Additional 8 years' relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

Clearance:

  • The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation.

Location:

  • Remote, USA.

Pay Range:

  • The suggested pay for this position ranges from $61,240 to $75,500.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
