Title: SENIOR PAYROLL & OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Payroll & Operations Specialist will be responsible for the oversight of CPG's managed payroll with the company's third-party vendor. The position requires familiarity with Paycor payroll processing and NetSuite timekeeping. This person ensures payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for both salaried and hourly employees. Knowledge of all state and federal regulations pertaining to timekeeping, tax payments, and state tax accounts is required. This position works closely with other HR team members on all levels of HR-payroll related tasks to ensure accurate payroll data is captured and organized for Paycor and provides the best customer service to the employees and management. This position will also have other Human Resources duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Serves as the company payroll point of contact and works closely with Paycor on payroll processing and tax filing
- Manages associated banking functions related to payroll processing
- HRIS system administration and management for 400+ employees in 27+ states
- Timesheet administration for payroll purposes
- Pulls and distributes all payroll related reports and ensures that all payroll documentation is in order
- Prepare journal entry for posting payroll to the accounting system
- Manages 401k loans and contributions as it pertains to payroll and assists with 401k plan administration, such as audits and 5500 filing
- Manages benefit contribution reports to carriers after each payroll, such FSA contributions
- Reviews timecard export, and ensures correct time reporting capture for non-exempt employees, such as nightshift differential and overtime
- Post, update and reconcile all employee-related payroll deductions (garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, etc.)
- Research and resolve any payroll tax notices from various government agencies and ensures that all appropriate state tax withholding and UI accounts are up to date and active
- Make pay adjustments, processing merit increases, bonuses, and commissions and an understanding of required payroll laws
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll
- Special related projects, such as managing the Human Resources budget and compensation / bonus modeling
- Research and administer unemployment claims
- Act as backup to Human Resources Manager for benefit functions and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of payroll and financial experience is required.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications such as: Word, and Outlook
- Deep understanding of Excel and the tool's capabilities
- Expertise in Paycor
- Knowledge of NetSuite timekeeping
Certificates and Licenses:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
