About the Corewell Health Vein and Vascular Surgery Clinic

The Corewell Health Vein Center is the only IAC-accredited vein center in West Michigan. IAC accreditation indicates a dedication to achieving the highest standards of patient care and an unmatched commitment to quality and safety. Our physicians are board-certified and fellowship-trained with extensive vascular experience. As leaders in care, we are involved in research studies that continue to advance vein care. Our comprehensive vein program offers the latest technologies, and only FDA-approved treatments are performed. We specialize in minimally invasive procedures and are trained in the latest FDA-approved treatments and technologies. Our vein program also offers diagnostic testing, compression garment retail, and adjunctive services to create a holistic care experience. Our procedures require no downtime. Some of the conditions we treat are: Varicose veins, Spider veins, Deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Superficial thrombophlebitis, Lymphedema, Iliac vein compression (May-Thurner syndrome), Pelvic venous insufficiency (pelvic congestion syndrome), Facial veins.

Scope of Work

Under the direction of the RN / Mid-level Provider / Physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

  • Collects and monitors assessment data and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
  • Provides direct patient care under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician, consistent with policies and procedures, and unit based routines.
  • Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
  • Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.
  • Greets and communicates with patients and families in a manner consistent with caring and respect. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of service.
  • Cleans patient's environment/work area/equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department/unit personnel.
  • Documents patient chargeable items according to standards.
  • Participates in selected quality monitoring activities under the direction of the RN / Mid-level Provider / Physician. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Recognizes appropriate and ethical behaviors and identifies resources for resolution as needed. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient, staff and organization data.
Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Vocational/Technical Graduate of an approved nursing program
  • Successful completion of competency based orientation program Required
  • Healthcare experience Preferred
  • LIC-License Practical Nursing (LPN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan NRS Home Care, VNA, and Hospice
    Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Medical Group, Pennock, Spectrum Health Grand Rapids, Gerber, Continuing Care (except Hospice), Ludington, Reed City, United, Zeeland 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Medical Group, Pennock, Spectrum Health Grand Rapids, Gerber, Continuing Care (except Hospice), Ludington, Reed City, United, Zeeland 90 Days required
  • Ideal candidate will be an LPN possessing either Cardio, Vein, or Vascular experience or possessing strong passion for Vein and Vascular Patient Population
  • This position will be able to pick up additional shifts if desired
