Position Overview
| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position is being recruited through Storebeck Search, care of Christine Falcone, at ncat_avcdevelopment@dsgco.com.
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Development will be a fundraising professional with a strong understanding of Public Higher education. The
AVC will oversee central fundraising programs, including annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, major gifts as well as school, college and athletics development programs. Working in close partnership with the Vice Chancellor for Advancement, the
AVC will help to grow and strengthen NC A&T's overall advancement efforts.
A collaborative leader with a strong track record of fundraising, the
AVC will work to establish a strategic and comprehensive fundraising operations. As a key member of the Advancement leadership team, the
AVC will play a strong role in helping NC A&T prepare and launch a comprehensive and successful fundraising campaign.

| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The Division of University Advancement is one of seven administrative divisions at North Carolina A&T State University. Our mission is to support the university through the growth and management of private resources by expanding opportunities for engagement among alumni, friends and community members, strengthening the university's brand, as well as improving marketing and communications.

| Minimum Requirements |
The ideal candidate will bring a master's degree and at least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience within a mature development program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They will have demonstrated success managing and motivating teams in a collaborative environment, along with experience playing a leadership role in a university-wide campaign. This individual will possess exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, donors, civic partners, and volunteers to achieve strong philanthropic results. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, creativity, and initiative, along with the flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed. |
| Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
* Preferred experience in higher education fundraising.
* Personal success in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major individual and institutional donors at the six-and seven-figure levels; the ability to inspire high net-worth individuals and major foundations and corporations to financial leadership.
* Proven success in leading high performing teams, as well as motivating and inspiring confidence in others.
* Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement development programs of complexity, including the ability to envision and articulate future direction.
* Demonstrated experience with budget presentation, planning and resource management;
* An employment history highlighted by increasing levels of responsibilities.
* Desire to be a strong team player with a sense of humor.
* Experience leading/managing a comprehensive Campaign.
* Have an understanding of Planned Giving vehicles as well as Corporate and Foundation fundraising.
* Demonstrated ability to plan strategically in all aspects fundraising. |
