We're looking for an Electrical Engineer with a passion for precision analog and power electronics to help design and evolve the next generation of electricity metering and measurement products. In this role, you'll work on realworld, highreliability designs-developing ACtoDC power supplies, precision measurement circuitry, and protection systems that utilities around the world rely on every day. You'll collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams to take designs from concept through production-solving meaningful engineering challenges that balance accuracy, safety, cost, and longterm reliability. Location: West Union, SC (Hybrid) West Union is a welcoming community in the scenic Upstate of South Carolina, just minutes from Lake Keowee and close to outdoor landmarks like the Blue Ridge Mountains. The area is within easy driving distance of Clemson, Greenville, and Anderson, offering access to university life, growing tech and manufacturing hubs. Why This Role Is Exciting Handson design ownership for precision analog and power electronics Impactful products used globally in utility and energy infrastructure Exposure to the full product lifecycle-from early prototypes to production launch A collaborative engineering culture that values mentorship, inclusion, and technical rigor What You'll Do Design and validate precision analog and power circuitry for highvoltage electricity metering applications (up to 240 V). Develop ACtoDC power supplies, surge protection circuitry, measurement systems, and communications interfaces. Build and debug prototypes; perform detailed characterization using lab and environmental test equipment. Optimize designs for low noise, low RF emissions, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. Perform rootcause analysis and support regulatory compliance, manufacturing test, and calibration strategies. Partner with firmware, systems, mechanical, compliance, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle. Participate in design reviews and help mentor junior engineers, fostering strong engineering practices and an inclusive team environment. Required Skills & Experience 3+ years of experience in analog and power electronics design Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field Solid understanding of analog component behavior Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout best practices Handson experience using common electronics lab equipment Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively on crossfunctional teams Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document designs and technical results Preferred Skills & Experience Experience designing ACtoDC power supplies and other highreliability power circuits Familiarity with surge protection and overvoltage protection strategies Background working in technology or productdriven environments with a customercentric mindset Interest in knowledgesharing, mentoring, and contributing to inclusive engineering teams Benefit Info This position also includes a competitive benefit package including; financial, social, health and wellbeing programs, paid vacation, 401k matching, employee stock purchase program, hybrid work schedule, and more! #LI-QW1 Itron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees.
