Bay Disposal looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk / Billing Specialist at our Norfolk, VA location. We need a detailoriented Accounts Receivable Clerk who thrives in a fastpaced environment and enjoys problemsolving, improving processes, and delivering excellent internal and external customer support. What You'll Do

AR Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile AR and cash accounts with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Post customer payments in a timely manner
  • Support weekly and monthly billing processes as needed
  • Review and enter credit/debit adjustments
  • Investigate and resolve customer billing or payment discrepancies
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and support special projects assigned by the Controller

Billing Responsibilities:

  • Monitor monthly, bi-monthly, and weekly billing procedures to ensure accurate statements are generated and delivered to customers.
  • Communicate explanations of charges and open balances with customers-directly and/or through the Collections team.
  • Review billing history for accuracy. Reconcile unpaid balances when needed to correct errors.
  • Liaison between customer and sales rep with regard to pricing for both contracted and out-of-contract services.
  • Assist periodic economic price adjustments to ensure customers are notified timely.
  • Communicate issues with coworkers and managers to work toward a permanent solution and improved processes.
  • Support the overall workflow of the A/R department with daily review of activities and reports, including posting batches after confirming accuracy.
What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Selfmotivated mindset with a drive to improve processes and solve problems
